New Delhi, 22 November 2019 - The High Commission participated in the Valedictory Ceremony of the 10th International Training Programme on Competence of Laboratories and their Management Systems conducted by the Bureau of India Standards [BIS] Training Institute- National Institute of Training for Standardization [NITS] in New Delhi on 22 November 2019 under the Technical and Economic Cooperation [ITEC] program funded by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. 37 participants from 19 countries participated in the training. There were 3 participants from the Tanzania Bureau of Standards [TBS]. During the function, the participants were awarded with certificates.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Guest, Mr. A. K. Sharma, Deputy Director General [Training] of BIS emphasized the importance of implementation of management system by the participants in their own countries in order to reap the benefit of their training.
During the ceremony, the Tanzanian participants, thanked the Government of India for sponsorship and for giving them the opportunity to participate in such an important training in developing their professional carriers and stated that, they have learned a lot especially, about the understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17043, ISO 15189 and importance of international and regional cooperation in areas such as laboratories Accreditation and Mutual Recognition Agreements. They further stated that, they would use the training provided to improve the quality of services in the country, through provision of better and safer products and services to the nation which will greatly stimulate national economic development agenda.
Since 2016 the Government of India, through ITEC has been offering various professional training each year for over 450 Tanzanians.
