On April 17, 2025, Tanzania was honored with the prestigious title of “Best Safari Destination” at the Diplomatic Travel Awards 2025, organised by The Travel Jingles, a leading travel magazine in India. The award ceremony was held at The Grand Hotel in New Delhi and recognized Tanzania's outstanding contributions to global tourism.

The event was attended by representatives from over 42 embassies and high commissions, including those of Tanzania, Estonia, Uruguay, Armenia, Jamaica, Ecuador, Seychelles, Jordan, Guyana, Fiji, and many others. Heads of diplomatic missions also shared their insights on the growing importance of cultural tourism.

During the award presentation, Tanzania’s High Commissioner to India, H.E. Anisa Mbega, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to The Travel Jingles for the recognition. She stated,
“Tanzania offers unparalleled experiences with its diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. We welcome travelers from around the world to explore our beautiful nation.”

This recognition also reflects the impactful leadership of President H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, whose strategic initiatives have revitalized Tanzania’s tourism sector. Notably, the production of the “Tanzania—The Royal Tour” documentary has played a pivotal role in showcasing the country’s natural wonders and cultural richness to an international audience. As a result, Tanzania has seen a substantial rise in tourist arrivals and revenues, with travel receipts reaching $3.6 billion by June 2024.

Tanzania’s iconic attractions—Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Mount Kilimanjaro—continue to captivate travelers worldwide. Meanwhile, the Zanzibar Archipelago offers pristine beaches and a vibrant display of Swahili culture. The country’s dedication to conserving natural habitats and promoting sustainable tourism has further reinforced its reputation as a leading safari destination.

This latest accolade adds to Tanzania’s growing list of international tourism awards, underlining its global standing in conservation, hospitality, and adventure travel.
