New Delhi, May 8, 2025 – Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania, paid an official visit to the Tanzania High Commission in New Delhi today. He was accompanied by a distinguished delegation from the ministry.

Upon arrival at the Chancery, Ambassador Mussa and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Her Excellency Ambassador Anisa Mbega and the home-based diplomatic staff. The visit was a significant opportunity to strengthen coordination between the ministry and its mission in India.

During a cordial and constructive meeting, Ambassador Mbega expressed her appreciation for the visit and briefed the delegation on the High Commission’s key activities, achievements, and challenges. She highlighted the robust and growing bilateral relations between Tanzania and India, emphasizing ongoing collaborations in sectors such as trade, investment, education, information technology, health, and capacity building. Ambassador Mbega noted that India continues to be a vital strategic partner in Tanzania’s development agenda.

Ambassador Mussa sincerely thanked Ambassador Mbega and her team for their dedication and hospitality. He commended the High Commission for its efforts in promoting Tanzania’s interests in India. He encouraged the staff to continue working diligently and professionally to uphold the country's image and advance bilateral cooperation.

During his remarks, Ambassador Mussa also praised the mission's physical appearance, noting that the Tanzania Chancery in New Delhi is the most beautiful and well-maintained building among all Tanzanian missions he has visited. He urged the mission to continue preserving the facility’s excellent condition, emphasizing that the chancery’s appearance reflects the dignity and prestige of the country it represents. 

He also emphasized the importance of unity, teamwork, and innovation in diplomatic service delivery. “Your work here is crucial in advancing Tanzania’s foreign policy goals. I urge you to remain committed, proactive, and focused on excellence,” he said.

The visit gave Ambassador Mussa and his delegation valuable insights into the mission’s operations. It facilitated in-depth discussions on current and emerging issues of mutual interest between Tanzania and India.
