The Commissioner General of the Tanzania [Mainland] Fire and Rescue Force, Eng. Pius Makuru Nyambacha accomplished a two day visit in New Delhi, India from 5th to 7th August, 2013.

While in Delhi, the Commissioner General, accompanied by the Tanzania High Commission Official  had a successful study visit to two private fire and rescue associated establishments in Dwarka, namely Delhi Institute of Fire Engineering [FIDE] and Delhi College of Fire Safety Engineering [DCFSE] which also involved  productive discussions with the Institutions’ Management as well as practical field visit.

During his respective meetings the FIDE and DCFSE administrations in Dwarka, the Commissioner General Nyambacha was given detailed information with reference to the program of studies and other associated fire and rescue services programmes conducted by those Institutions in addition to their regular academic activities.

In his responding remarks, the Commissioner General expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Management and staff of the FIDE and the DCFSE for their friendly hospitality extended to him and the accompanying Diplomatic Official.  He appreciated the FIDE/DCFSE Managements’ consent to his request for the visits [at a very short notice] despite of their intensive academic responsibilities.

Eng. Nyambacha also commended the outstanding achievements attained by the Institutions academically and socially and eventually solicited for closer cooperation between Tanzania [Fire Brigade] and those two Indian Fire Engineering Institutions, commencing with a solidarity visit to Tanzania [Fire Brigade] by their Officials for the same.

Within the perspective of excellent Indo-Tanzania bilateral relation and cooperation, the Commissioner General also acquainted them with detailed information on fire and rescue services in Tanzania,  while also revealing the intention of his visit  as to physically explore appropriate fire related Training Institutions in India for the purpose of ultimately dispatching his Officers for advanced professional studies in that field.

The Commissioner General who was pleased with the presentations and the field visit pledged to follow up and maintain sincere communication and relationship between the Tanzania Fire and Rescue Force, FIDE and DCFSE in order to jointly and productively realise the intended goals, including that of posting Tanzania’s Fire Service Officers to the Institutes and assigning FIDE/DCFSE Lecturers to train them in Tanzania.

Moreover, the Commissioner General visited the Chancery of the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania at the Diplomatic Enclave, Chanakyapuri,  where he paid courtesy to the High Commissioner H.E. Ambassador Eng. John W.H. Kijazi.

Besides, he also had a successful interactive meeting with other Staff of the Mission while sharing with them his professional knowledge on fire prevention, protection and containing as well as advising them on various safety measures related to fire and rescue as well. Preceding this meeting was the Commissioner General’s visit and general appraisal of the Chancery’s fire system including fire extinguishers, fire alarms etc where he also gave his professional advice to the Mission accordingly.
