Kolkata, July 24, 2021-Ambassador Baraka H. Luvanda called on the Governor of West Bengal State, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata today. Honorary Consul of Tanzania in Kolkata, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Singhania, and others were present.

Ambassador Luvanda discussed with Governor matters relating to further strengthening of the bilateral relations between Tanzania and West Bengal State, particularly in regard to issues relating to the trade, business, investment, and social-cultural connections, in particular through the newly appointed Honorary Consul, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Singhania.

Governor mentioned to Ambassador Luvanda the many areas which have a very high potential for Tanzania–West Bengal collaborations and appreciated the official commissioning of the Honorary Consul of Tanzania in Kolkata.

He also suggested to the Ambassador to explore the possibility of early setting up a direct air link between Dar es Salaam and Kolkata via Mumbai as such connectivity will promote both tourism and economic links.
