H. E. Mrs. Anisa K. Mbega - High Commissioner
High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania with concurrent accreditation to Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh

H.E. Mrs. Anisa Kapufi Mbega assumed in September, 2021 the post of High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to India with multiple accreditations to the Republic of Singapore, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the People's Republic of Bangladesh and in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

She joined the Tanzanian Foreign Service in January 1999 and has served at the Tanzanian Foreign Affairs Ministry before being posted at the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania in Kampala, Uganda from 2011 until 2013.

In 2013, she rejoined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation as Assistant Director, the post she held until the end of 2015.

Mrs. Mbega was appointed in September 2015 to the rank of Ambassador and became Director in the Department of Diaspora and Engagement Opportunities in the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the post she held until her appointment as the High Commissioner to India.

Ambassador Mbega has a Bachelor of Economics (BA Hons.) from the Aligarh Muslim University, India. She also holds a Master of Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University, Australia.

She speaks fluently Swahili and English.
